Definition of Article Directory
An article directory is a website that contains a catalogue of articles written by various authors on a range of topics. It contains a specialized system that allows authors writing articles on different subjects to submit their work to be read by other persons who may be interested in a particular topic in the articles. The system allows the authors to receive direct connections to a target website by providing a link to other sites. This ensures that their links are popularized and receive higher ratings from readers who find such links important to them. To send an article to an article directory, an author registers his articles with an article directory site of his choice and then proceeds to submit his work. Once submitted, the articles are checked for quality and standards after which they are approved and added to the catalogue of existing articles within the article directory (Paul 3).

The first procedure involves proposing a domain name, which is the address that readers shall use to access articles on the website for example one can propose www.acme-articles.com. Once the selected domain name has been authenticated, web hosting is done to launch the articles to the website. This procedure is done cautiously to prevent the article volume from exceeding the available band width and ensure that the server speeds are not lowered should a reader try to access the website. The next procedure involves choosing a theme and plug in. The theme forms the formal outlooks of the website page while the plug in are essential in varying word press on the article site. After the selection of theme and plug in, down loading is done with similar plug in to create a site theme. Finally, the formed theme in installed followed by an immediate activation which creates an article directory.
The use of articles directory in communication and media has proved vital to many authors as it offers the best publicity of articles enabling a wide clientele base to access those materials which in turn increases their trust in the quality of work of a given author.
